Lit props, illuminated trees & light trails
Christmas Lighting Hire
For most of the Christmas trading period it is dark before people finish work. Whatever you have built is seen after sunset or it is barely seen at all — which makes lighting the part of the scheme that decides whether the rest of it was worth doing. We hire lit props, illuminated trees and whole light trails, installed and collected by our own team.
Light the props, not the car park
There is a difference between lighting a space and building a scheme out of light. Floodlighting an area makes it visible; it does not make it festive, and it usually flattens everything in it. What people photograph is light with a shape — a lit tree, a glowing sphere, a row of lamps, an archway they walk through.
That is the way we work: the lighting is the props, rather than something pointed at the props. It arrives as objects you place, it goes up with the rest of the scheme, and it leaves in January.
- Illuminated pieces rather than floodlighting.
- Warm light reads as Christmas; cold white reads as a car park.
- Several small lit objects beat one bright source.
- Several of these need a mains supply at the installation point — each product page says so.
Lit & illuminated props
Trees, spheres, lamps, mushrooms and figures that are themselves the light source.
Light trails
A light trail turns lighting from decoration into a ticketed event. People walk a route, scenes arrive one after another, and the whole thing exists only after dark — which means it fills the hours a daytime attraction cannot.
We designed and built the trail at Duxbury Park Golf Club in 2025, including a four-metre moon. If you have a route — a garden, a park, an estate, a golf course, a woodland path — that is the conversation to have with us.
See the grottos and experiences we have built for how a route is put together.
Where lighting changes the job
Different problems, same principle.
Shop fronts & windows
Lit from inside the display rather than from the ceiling — see the window display guide.
Entrances & forecourts
A lit archway or a pair of lit trees at a threshold does more than anything else you can put there.
Parks, estates & trails
Routes rather than rooms. Spacing and sightlines matter more than the individual pieces.
Hospitality & evening trade
Warm, low and close. Pubs and restaurants want glow, not brightness.
Switch-on events
Something has to actually switch on. A lit centrepiece gives the countdown somewhere to land.
Common questions
Do you hire Christmas lighting, or install it?
Both — everything we hire is delivered, installed and collected again by our own team, anywhere in the UK.
Do you fit Christmas lights to buildings?
Our lighting is illuminated props, lit trees and light trails rather than fittings attached to a building. Tell us what you have in mind and we will say honestly whether it is a job for us.
Do lit props need a power supply?
Many of them do, and the ones we have measured say so on their own product page. Tell us where the props are going and we will tell you what each position needs.
Can you build a light trail?
Yes. We designed and built the trail at Duxbury Park Golf Club in 2025, including a four-metre moon. If you have a route, send us a plan or a photo of it.
How much does Christmas lighting hire cost?
Individual lit props publish their rates on their own pages where we hold them. A trail or a full scheme is quoted against the site, the route and the dates.
